Student Visa (Subclass 500)

Student Visa (Subclass 500) can be applied by an overseas student who has enrolled in Australian course for study. Also, the student must have a valid health cover by Overseas Student Health Cover Provider. This visa is temporary allows the applicant for stay period up till 5 years depending on their course duration.

Eligibility

You must be aged 6 or older to apply for this visa.
If you are under 18 years of age, you must have adequate welfare arrangements in place while you are in Australia.
You and your family members must have and maintain adequate health insurancefor the whole of your stay in Australia. To find out the length of coverage you will require, see student visa grant periods.
You and family members aged 16 years and over who apply for the visa must meet our character requirement.
You must have enough money to pay for your stay in Australia. Living costs vary throughout Australia and may be higher than what is needed for your visa application.

Proof Of Enrolment (CoE)

You should have a valid Proof of Enrolment for student visa subclass (500) application. You will receive a copy of you Proof of Enrolment when you enrol.

Financial Capacity

In student visa application you need to provide the financial documents according to the expenses. Amount of student visa funding depends, for instance if you are single or have family and the time in which you are undertaking your studies. Some of the documents you need to provide are bank statements, proof of deposits, loan, etc. This proof may also include information provided by your spouse or parent if they are providing you with financial assistance.
